Cast iron riveted antique firebasket from France dating from around the end of the 19th C.
Highly decorated and in fabulous condition with the exception of a number of leaves missing from the top front ( we didn't notice the missing leaves for quite a while!).
An Antique fireside shovel from France, which will have been hand forged. This long handled shovel dates from the 1920's or before, a practical firetool that is in excellent condtion.
An antique French tiled stove plinth or base in excellent condition. There are a very small number of tiny marks but these are almost invisible. The tiles have an age patina seen by the finest of crazing in the tile glaze, it adds to the antique look. Made anywhere from the 1920's to maybe the 1940's, it is in the traditional style of a steel band with a mortar infill and tiled to the tastes of the day. Although of medium size this is a very heavy duty item (see weight) and make no mistake it is an original piece of stove art. Plinths were designed to insulate the stove from the floor, but also to enhance it. This plinth will suit many stoves and other colours apart from green.
